My 12-year-old granddaughter was born completely blind. She has a strong relationship with God, and we frequently read the Bible to her or listen to scripture on the Bible app. Since she reads Braille fluently, I wanted to get her a Braille Bible.

This is one of numerous stories Lutheran Braille Workers (LBW) receive on a constant basis – with their headquarters located in our own Pacific Southwest LCMS District in Yucaipa, CA. As a recognized service organization of the LCMS, they have heeded the call to serve those that are Blind and Visually Impaired providing the Word of God in Braille and specialized large print.
In 80 years, LBW has provided fifteen million volumes of Christian material in forty languages to 164 countries making them the world’s primary provider of these materials. Bibles, hymnals, devotionals, and Bible studies are available by partnerships with Concordia Publishing House, Lutheran Hour Ministries, Artesian Ministries, and others who have partnered to share their publications with this population.
When people contact LBW to get these materials, they provide them 100% free of charge.
How are they able to do this? By the 3200 volunteers in 69 Braille and 37 Large Print Ministry Production Centers. By the prayers of those that ask God to continue to bless the ministry of LBW. By the generosity of many who help fund getting the Word of God in the hands of those that want it.
