The third annual Young Adult Retreat, co-led by Trinity Lutheran Church in Bend, Oregon, and Abiding Savior Lutheran Church in Lake Forest, California, brought together more than 30 young adults this past July. Far more than a weekend away in Oregon, it was a powerful reminder of what can happen when young adults, congregations, and districts work together to create opportunities to grow in faith, serve others, and build community. This past May, members of Emmaus Lutheran Church and School in Alhambra, California celebrated with joy and thanksgiving as nine children (8 students, 1 sibling) were reborn through the gift of Holy Baptism during their Eight Grade Blessing Service. God is at work at St. Paul's Lutheran Church and School in Orange, CA, this past spring as twenty-four individuals (21 children and 3 adults) had their lives made new as they received the gift of Holy Baptism. St. Paul's Lutheran School serves students from Infant Care through 8th grade and is a ministry of St. Paul's Lutheran Church. Their mission is simple yet powerful: to educate children, nurture their faith, and equip them to share the Gospel of Christ. Centered on Chris
