EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT AND CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER CFO, The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod seeks an Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer for Concordia Plan Services.  Concordia Plan Services (CPS) administers the benefit programs and the Trust’s by which programs are funded for full-time workers of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod, its controlled organizations, member congregations and affiliated agencies. Must be able to provide support for the work of the Investment and the Actuarial and Benefits Committees of the CPS Board of Directors.  Position ensures connection of strategy/business plan to operating plan/budget, develop operating budgets, ensure connection of strategy/business plan to operating plan/budget.  Provide strategic recommendations to the president based on financial projections and experience analysis, oversee financial performance of Concordia Plan Services and Concordia Plans, creating financial plans and projections, and reporting and analysis of actual vs. expected results.  Ensure appropriate Plan funding models in place (contribution rates and investment income expectations) and appropriate Plan expenditures (benefits and expenses).  Must be able to ensure appropriate level of surplus and reserves to meet future needs, oversee actuarial valuation and analysis activities (internal and external consultant). Oversee Enterprise Risk Management activities:  Develop and manage action plan to eliminate/mitigate identified areas of risk.  Coordinate all audit activities; oversee traditional accounting and financial reporting activities. Assistant/Associate Professor of Nursing 

As a member of the faculty in the School of Business and Professional Studies’ nursing department, the assistant/associate professor will have an earned Master of Science in Nursing (MSN), preferably with two specialties from the following: medical/surgical, pediatrics, maternal/child, psychiatric/mental health and gerontology. Responsibilities will include teaching undergraduate courses, supervising clinical instruction, advising, and other duties and service to the university.  While applications from all areas of nursing will be considered, preference will be given to candidates poised to excel in nursing education and working with students.

 

Assistant/Associate Professor of Biology

As a member of the faculty in the School of Arts and Sciences’ biology department, the assistant/associate professor will need to possess a  strong understanding of the interconnection between faith and science with expertise or interest in undergraduate research in biological areas. A terminal degree in an appropriate area, preferably genetics, biochemistry, or molecular or cell biology is preferred.
